GUT

Collective Gut / Georgian Universal Trust

Success is Unavoidable.

Gut is an art collective that changes in size and can be traced back to the collaborations between Lado Darakhvelidze and Mikey Georgeson. Both these artists could be said to weave a dialectical discourse into art as way of living, though neither would say this was their intention. Their trust in Gut comes from purposive acts of aesthetic intention without end, as a form of morphing meaning-making incorporating jouissance rather than rejecting it as is the habit of neo-liberal growth logic. Gut takes the neo-liberal blandism of the glocal and establishes it as an armulet of radical experience.

In that sense you can say Collective Gut is a defence against the colonisation of mental-health by corporatist initiatives relying on mechanisms of supply and demand. Georgeson (sometimes Beat Coin) often champions what he regards as the scientific quantum veracity of weaving life as real fiction and Darakhvelidze both encourages and questions this in the process of their digestive rituals of meaning making.

Collective Gut invites you to perceive the region with us all as a part of the region.

The Gut is a region of digression and coincidence in becoming a part of the Region’s continual emergence in collective ritual.

The Georgian language itself resists the colonising mechanism of efficient reduction in universalising forces and maintains the succession of the Lyric voice as where meaning is made.

Success is unavoidable.

This bricolage film, No Agenda, is a speculative instance of ritual living in pragmatic lyric. The purposive acts of aesthetic repetition are as the bird builds a nest within we might gently house the fragile temporary systems of reconciliation. Georgia is uniquely positioned to resist the traumas of what Burroughs terms the language virus that has removed all phatic expression from human encounter because unlike the Latin alphabet its script is shaped in a structure of lyrical digression that weaves the past into the future present.

Presence in the region reweaving the absent into the matter flow of the vitality of lyric.
